This Fortis Mens watch is part of the B-42 Official Cosmonauts collection. Mars 500 is an ambitious experiment that was launched in order to test the possibility of sending a crew of cosmonauts to Mars by 2030. Fortis is the official partner of ESA and the Russian Institute of Biomedical Problems who are responsible for the project. The limited edition B-42 Black Mars 500 Day/Date Titanium was launched as a result of that collaboration. Solely 2012 such items are available on the market. The watch is equipped with Swiss-made ETA 2836-2 automatic calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour and has 25 bearing jewels. Other movement characteristics include fine timing device and Incabloc shock absorber. Hands, numerals and indices are covered with luminous paint that enhances night time readability. A day and date display is positioned at the 3 oclock mark. Indications are bilingual, coming both in English and German. Additional useful features include uni-directional rotating bezel that measures elapsed time, rubber coated crown, screw-down case back featuring the emblems of Russian space authorities, individual numbering and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating. |
