This Fortis Mens watch is part of the B-42 Official Cosmonauts collection. Mars 500 is an ambitious experiment that was launched in order to test the possibility of sending a crew of cosmonauts to Mars by 2030. Fortis is the official partner of ESA and the Russian Institute of Biomedical problems who are responsible for the project. The limited edition B-42 Black Mars 500 was launched as a result of that collaboration. The watch is equipped with Swiss-made 220, 11 1/2" automatic calibre that performs 28 800 vibrations per hour and has 26 bearing jewels. Other characteristics include fine timing device and Incabloc shock absorber. A day and date window is positioned at the 3 oclock mark. Indicators are bilingual, coming in English and German. A uni-directional, rotating bezel is available to measure elapsed time. Hands, indices and bezel elements are covered with luminous paint that enhances readability in the dark. Additional useful features include screw-down titanium case back, individual numbering and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass with anti-reflective coating. |
